Jean-François and Guylaine, founders of Jardins de l'écoumène
Gabrielle
Director of the seed department, Gabrielle supervises the germination tests, gère the stocks of seeds and forms the bridge with the Gardens team. Holder of a higher education diploma in biodiversity preservation, she participates in safeguarding the heritage of open-pollinated seeds. This young woman with a lively community spirit adds her stone to the building of sovereignty and food security for the population!
Buckskin
Operations attendant, Isabelle groups, checks, counts, packages, addresses and stamps packages sent to customers. Coming from a family with agricultural origins, she returns to her roots and loves it. She also has the opportunity to go play in the dirt too and never shys away from this pleasure. The site, where calm and harmony reign between humans, animals and plants, immediately charmed her.
Jean-François
The indispensable Jean-François, administrative and financial director, sees that everything balances between the company's columns of figures. Although reserved by nature, he is kind-hearted and full of kindness. He finds it very stimulating to work with a team of people who share his convictions with so much passion!
France
After 10 years as a grocery store cashier, France took up the
challenge of changing your life and joined our team as operations attendant. She says she found at Jardins de l'écoumène a work environment that listens and cares about the needs of its employees. His constant good humor brightens the days of his colleagues.
Felix
Félix is a young man who grew up surrounded by the forest and who loves being there! Strong and very resourceful, he is the handyman of the place. As'operator, he drives vehicles and takes care of transporting heavy loads. He works with all the members of the team who greatly appreciate his jovial and dynamic nature. He is also a volunteer firefighter for the municipalities of St-Damien and Saint-Jean-de-Matha.
Victor-Hugues
This Bachelor of Arts always wears a big smile. A great nature enthusiast, Victor was introduced to growing vegetables very early: he made his first vegetable garden at the age of 8! His work experiences in production, hygiene and food safety serve him well in his role as responsible for manufacturing. Everyone appreciates his great curiosity, his creativity and his good humor.
Philippe
In order to support the ambitions of theÉcoumène to inspire as many people as possible to adopt practices beneficial to soil health and biodiversity, Philippe joined the team as sales representative. He travels the roads of Quebec meeting retailers, producers, associations, municipalities, etc.
Mickaël
Mickaël first joined theÉcoumène as a temporary worker, but quickly demonstrated excellent skills that led him to more responsibilities. Curious and passionate about permaculture, he is seed extraction technician during the summer period and responsible for manufacturing of horticultural products during the cold season. His constant good humor makes him an endearing and engaging work colleague.
Jeanne
Retired from her profession as a laboratory technician, Jeanne now participates in the activities ofbagging et germination tests. From her first day at the Jardins de l'écoumène, she discovered a welcoming and supportive work environment.
Iryna
Despite a background in biology and extensive experience in zoology, Iryna describes herself as an eternal learner. His passion for plants is not new; she has already won the competition for the most beautiful community vegetable garden in the City of Montreal! As operations attendant, she brilliantly takes on tasks requiring great patience such as bagging and finishing cleaning of certain batches of seeds.
Julie
Julie says she fell in love with her during her first visit to theÉcoumène. She decided to follow her inner voice and join our team. She now divides her time between field distribution or gardening tasks andAdministrative Assistant. Always smiling and open to new challenges, she is a valuable addition to our team.
Sylvie
Versatile, Sylvie participates in bagging, distributing orders, packaging Biochar and even in the gardens! Inasmuch as operations attendant, Sylvie shines with her humor and good humor. At the Gardens of the Ecoumene, she says she learned a lot about what the Earth has to offer us. And she surprises us with the challenges she accepts to take on.
Sandrine
Sandrine, with her background in customer service and her DEP in secretarial work, takes on the role of retailer network coordinator. Very efficient and effective, she demonstrates a good sense of initiative to develop the network and improve the customer experience of retailers. It’s a pleasure to collaborate with her on new projects.
Érika
With her university training in information science and digital information management, Érika spends most of her time recording, noting, monitoring stock status and checking the right quantity of products available to our customers. . Honest, conscientious, creative, patient and involved, Érika is our warehouse coordinator.
Jeremy
Jérémy demonstrates enthusiasm and natural leadership. As'operator, he handles and maintains the lift and rolling vehicles. He is also responsible for assembling garden structures and installing irrigation systems, in addition to being involved in the social committee by offering fun activities to the team.
Antoine
It is the quest for “living differently” and for alternative ways of doing things that has led Antoine towards theÉcoumène. The experience he has acquired in warehouse work allows him to take a fresh look at our practices and propose judicious avenues for optimization. Inasmuch as operations attendant, he is versatile and always open to learning new tasks.
Luis
Luis joined the Jardins de l’écoumène in 2023 ashorticultural worker. With his background in cut flower cultivation, he developed a fine sense of observation and a great sense of autonomy in his work. Always calm and smiling, he is a colleague appreciated by the entire team.
Magda
With a bachelor's degree in social work, Magda was also immersed in the field of organic market gardening. Always on the lookout for good HR practices in line with the values and vision of theÉcoumèneour HR coordinator is also involved in organizing activities at theÉcoumène. Participating in creating a healthy and stimulating work environment is at the heart of its priorities.
Mario
Mario is a courageous man who chose to separate from his family in Guatemala for a few months, in order to come and work with us as a horticultural worker. His concern for a job well done, his humility and his warm attitude make us feel fortunate to have him on our team. Despite the language barrier, he was able to create bonds with his team, notably thanks to his sense of humor.
Arianne
Arianne joined our team ashorticulturist. She has expertise in horticultural production and the environment. Her constant good humor makes her a pleasant team leader to be around. Always open to new learning, she knows how to contribute positively to the organization. You will find it in our store during the winter season, available to advise you.
Maygann
Maygann has been with the team for quite a while now. After taking on the role of distribution manager, she is now embarking on a new adventure, that of gardens. It can be said thatÉcoumène, she discovered a new passion for the horticultural world. She specializes in different methods ofseed extraction and packaging.
Adrien
Adrien stands out for his calm and constancy. At theÉcoumène, he occupies the roles of distribution manager And the one of IT Technician. It is therefore he who responds to the majority of requests from our online store customers. Always quick to offer his help and support, there is no doubt that Adrien is appreciated by his colleagues.
Sara-Jeanne
Sara-Jeanne shines with her dynamism and energy. With her professional experience in chili production, she joined the team as operations attendant, which allows him to contribute to indoor work as much as to work in the gardens. She aspires, one day, to undertake her own micro-farm project.
